Ingrid Nilsen Reveals Her Holy-Grail Beauty Products

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or don’t spend hours on YouTube watching makeup tutorials like us), then you’ve probably heard of YouTube sensation, Ingrid Nilsen. The boss babe is a supersuccessful YouTuber (with close to 4 million subscribers), the face of Bare Minerals’ Original Foundation and even starred as a judge on “Project Runway: Threads.” Needless to say, she knows a thing or two about the makeup biz. So, when she’s not testing new products for her YouTube channel, what are her go-to staples? We found out.

Must-Haves:
“For the days my skin is more oily, micellar waters are my favorite for zapping excess grease. I especially love using Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for Oily Skin, $8.99, when I wake up in the morning or when I don’t feel like using a rinse-off cleanser.

That being said, my skin has actually been a bit dry lately, so SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, $179, is a must-have in my skin-care routine. I love it because it helps with the tone and texture of my skin, while giving it a surge of moisture. It also helps prep my face for the rest of my skin-care routine and makeup application.

I use a lot of texturizing sprays, so Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo, $25, is a once-a-week must for me. The clarifying shampoo gets rid of the product buildup in my hair and leaves my strands nice and clean.

Another must-have? Jo Malone Body Cream in Peony + Blush Suede, $75. This is my signature perfume scent. I’ve been wearing it for so long, and putting on the body cream is my favorite way to start my day and hydrate my skin.

As for makeup, BareMinerals Original Foundation, $28.50, is my go-to right now. I love how light and creamy it feels and that the coverage is buildable. Depending on what I want that day, I can make the foundation full coverage or keep it light when my skin is cooperating. But really, I love it because it makes me feel like myself.

To go with my foundation, I really like to use Soap & Glory Kick Ass Just Bright Concealer, $10, before my regular under-eye concealer to act as a brightening base. The light purple color corrects in a way that makes your eyes look really bright and awake.

To lock my eye shadow in place, I rely on Nars Eyeshadow Primer, $26, which I’ve been using for years. I have really oily eyelids, so this product is a lifesaver for keeping my shadow in place.

This product is a little newer to me, but I love the Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme, $28. I’m a fan of the liquid lip look and these give me just the right amount of color and hydration.

As for my mascara, I have a lash-lifting trick. I combine CoverGirl Plumpify BlastPro by LashBlast Waterproof Mascara, $10.49, with CoverGirl So Lashy Waterproof Mascara, $10.49, and my lashes hold a lovely curl every time.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

This is by far the most kick-ass liner to use. It is one of the darkest and most steadfast liquid formulas you’ll ever need to recreate the looks that you want. It is perfect for the sharp wing look, or any subtle look. The liner has a razor-sharp, pin-straight tip that allows you to draw a precision line and will not smudge.

Eyeko Sport Waterproof Mascara

This mascara is great for the active woman dedicated to working out. It does a great job with standing up to the sweat from any high-intensity class or hot yoga. The unique design of the mascara brush allows you to really sweep your lashes and gives you high moisture and sweat-repelling coverage.

Some can say that you should not care how you look at the gym, while others disagree. I say chances are, you may never make it to the gym because your lashes will look amazing!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette

This one is an essential piece that needs to be part of your eye shadow collection. The 14 available shades in neutral and berry tones allow you to create a daytime or evening look. The high pigmentation allows you to wear it all day or evening without it creasing.

This is yet another item that has sold out fast and continues to sell out. It is currently out of stock, but let’s pray to the makeup gods it’ll be available again soon.
