Vig’s Coming to McDowell Mountain Ranch

North Scottsdale residents in the McDowell Mountain Ranch area will get a popular neighborhood hangout when The Vig opens in May.

The Vig, known as one of best patio bars in the Valley, already has four Valley locations. The new restaurant is in a new standalone building on the southwest corner of Bell Road and Thompson Peak Parkway. The roughly 13,000-square-foot space is designed to take advantage of mountain views with large glass windows and other elements that bring the outdoors inside.

Less than a mile from the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Gateway Trailhead center, The Vig is banking on serving as a refreshment pit stop before or after outdoor recreational activities. To that end, The Vig installed lockers next to the outside bathroom for guests to use to freshen up after or gear up before hiking or biking. There is a bike rack as well. The restaurant will open at 8 a.m. Fridays through Sundays.

HIKE, REFUEL: 10 spots for brunch after hiking

Located in the McDowell Mountain Marketplace, The Vig joins The Breakfast Joynt, Nori Sushi and a Bashas’ grocery store. Look for similar brunch, lunch and dinner menus as the other locations, with something for everyone:

  • Sharable plates such as nachos, guacamole and hummus.
  • Burgers, sandwiches and salads.
  • Larger plates, like rib eye steak with potatoes, maple-glazed salmon and pad Thai
